FlightSim Flight Simulator Download

FlightSim

FlightSim is a game built for the Windows operating system that allows you to get the experience of flight on your own computer, completely free of charge. It’s a realistic flight simulator that can be used if you’re training to become a professional pilot (very complex physics has been built in to make it as real as possible and a lot of the controls you have are also the same) or whether you just have an interest in simulation or flight games. This is undoubtedly the best one available to date.

Introduction

FlightSim in actionFlight simulation has been around for many years. It was originally developed for trainee pilots who needed practice before they got behind a real airplane. It needed to be as real as possible so that these people could get a similar experience to what they would in the future, so a lot of time was spent perfectly the physics behind it as well as studying real planes to make sure all of the tools in reality have been captured in the software properly. It was an interesting development that started to be used after the year 2000 and has become more popular ever since.

The main problem with it originally is that in order to make it as accurate as possible, a lot of complex technologies had to be used which made it quite a heavy process for an ordinary computer to run. At the time, if the processor and the graphics card wasn’t of high quality it would really struggle and definitely wouldn’t get the desired results – often crashing, lagging and in some cases just not working at all. For this reason, uptake of it was rather slow at first as powerful machines had to be purchased by airlines to ensure that it could be run successfully, which meant quite a large amount of investment that some just weren’t willing to take.

As technology developed rapidly, so did flight simulators. It was becoming cheaper and cheaper for airlines to use and some even took it to the next level. Instead of just an ordinary keyboard and mouse input, the more advanced companies invested in real airplane controls so that the pilot would use the same buttons and levers as they would in a real situation. This method of practising and teaching became more and more effective – reading books and studying for exams was of course important but this was something that really helped to test their knowledge and put it all into perspective.

FlightSim was one of the first pieces of software that was realised to the general public. It became apparent that it wasn’t just pilots that wanted to use it, many other people wanted to test out the physics and have some real fun with it without taking any commitments and becoming a real member of staff. The hardware inside computers was becoming more and more powerful and in 2003 and 2004, it was decided that the majority of mainstream machines would be able to run it. This is when the first version of this free program was released to everyone who wants it and as you would expect, there have been many others that have been released as a result.
